Erectile dysfunction. A conversation worth having.
Difficulty getting or keeping an erection can affect confidence as well as intimacy. You deserve a calm conversation, without embarrassment or pressure.
What does it mean?
Erectile dysfunction (ED) means difficulty getting or maintaining an erection firm enough for sex. An occasional difficulty does not, on its own, tell you the cause.
It is not always “just stress”.
Stress, tiredness and medicines can play a part. Diabetes, blood pressure, circulation or hormonal problems can also contribute. More than one factor may be involved.
What can I notice?
Think about when the change started, how often it happens, whether it varies with the situation, and how it affects you. These observations can help a consultation; they cannot diagnose the cause.
When should I seek advice?
If the difficulty keeps happening or is troubling you, arrange a medical appointment. Assessment can help identify contributing health issues and discuss suitable options.

Meet Dr Khan.

Dr Muhammad Faisal Khan is a Consultant Urologist at New Mowasat Hospital, Kuwait. He joined the hospital as consultant and clinical lead in June 2022, following NHS consultant posts at North Devon Hospital and North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust in Peterborough.
Alongside his work in Kuwait, Dr Khan regularly practises in the UK. This ongoing clinical work helps him keep up with developments in urology and bring that experience into his care in Kuwait.
Qualifications & experience
His qualifications include FRCS (Urol), MRCS, MBBS and BSc. He was a Clinical Fellow (Teaching) at Plymouth University from 2018 to 2021 and received a North Devon Hospital staff excellence award for patient management in 2019.
